Maya 7 Compatibility Question

Hi

I need to open a file created with Maya 7 in Maya 6 or 6.5
In Maya7 I tried to save it as ASCII and as binary file
Both options give an error when trying to open in Maya 6 or 6.5

Anyone knows how to do it ?

After saving as a .ma, open it up in a text editor and try replacing everywhere that says 7.0 with whatever version you're using. Even still, that won't work 100% of the time, especially if the file is using anything that is 7.0-specific.
