Introduction to Maya - Modeling Fundamentals Vol 2
This course will look in the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. It's aimed at people that have some modeling experience in Maya but are having trouble with complex objects.

Arm moving head!?

Hi!
My first post here. Glad to find a forum at last where I can get some help. (I hope) and maybe help someone else out in the
future.
Here´s my problem: I´ve done an easy robot just by sphere´s
and cylinders. It will be for stills, but I need a rig just to position it
right.
I´ve done the skeleton and I smoothbind it, BUT when I move the
shoulder joint to move the arm the head get squized on the same side. The cheek and ear moves. Really weird.
I mirrored the arm skeleton and when I try to bind the other
arm Maya says that It is already binded to other material and
names a joint on the other arm(shoulder).
Hope this is understandle, hard to get it in text.
I send a picture too.
As it seemed it will go fast so I did not rename the joints or
anything.
Any clues?

Peter

I´ve tried that, but could´nt get it to the head. This is so weird.
Only the nose and ears got black/white. Well, I´ll keep
trying:headbang:

Thank´s!

The influences of the joints were set to 5 so the head joint was to close.

if its such a rough model you might be better of rigid binding it anyway...

But im sure on your problem. sorry.

Think´I´ll post some results.
The story is: An old robot gets thrown away, but he don´t
accept that so he get´s out of the yunkyard by hitchhiking
with a car. Gets to the Big City find´s his builder witch get´s
him into shape again.
