Making a polygon from selected vertices

I'm coming from Lightwave, in the modeler you use "p" to do this.
Is there a similar function in Maya? that is, select vertices and make a polygon from them.

I was wondering this too.

How does it work in Lightwave? Connecting the closest verts?

Wait. There isn't a create vertex tool. Nevermind!

You can Loft curves together, though!

Note: If you use Firefox, this tutorial might not work.

In Lightwave, it connects the vertices in the order they were selected.

...seems fundamental to polygonal modeling. Maya's got to have this...

Hold V and it snaps to vertexes... which really only come up when they're already attached to polygons.
