Introduction to Maya - Modeling Fundamentals Vol 2
This course will look in the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. It's aimed at people that have some modeling experience in Maya but are having trouble with complex objects.

Maya and mental ray materials

Hello everyone,

Is it possible to render material with "Substance" with mental ray?

Im able to render this material only with maya renders.

How this works?
Are Maya materials (Phong, Lambert..) only for maya renders and Mental Ray for mental ray render?

Thank you in advance
Trim0

SOLVED:

I just bake substance to the texture with shader network and use it as new material... It works...

Word is that it's possible. Top three results on Google led to page that sent me here.

Maya materials like lambert, phong, blinn are standard in the package and Mental Ray supports them as it does most of the Maya shading nodes. The reverse is not true as Mental Ray is a more advanced (up until one point third party renderer).

Ok, thank you so much. I did it already without "Substance Bonus Tools".
It is possible just bake it from standard maya tools.
