Extrude Orientation

I am modeling a house.

The extrude face tool is automatically rotated orthagonally to the face normal ( I am guessing ). I want to extrude the face on an angle. How do I do it?

ex. I am making a house. I want to extrude the roof-line to overhang the walls by a couple feet (at a 45 degree angle). The roof edge face is perpendicular to the walls. sooo, if I extrude, the roof edge extrudes perpendicular to the wall.

Extrude then either toggle the blue circle on the outside ring of the extrude manipulator to switch from local to global orientation. Or, extrude and rotate before pulling the face out.
