Learning Maya 5 Rendering book

I was thinking of buying this book as I don't really know where to start with the rendering.

Does anyone know if the book is any good, or if any other reference material would be better?

I thought it was a pretty interesting book when I flipped through it at Barnes and Noble. Very easy to understand. If you go to the publisher's site, Sybex, you can download the first chapter. That should give you an idea if it fits you or not.
