Penguin Tutorial

I need to create a series of images of a 3d penguins for a project that I am working on, and I figured that Maya was probably my best bet since I am not that good with 3d in photoshop from weird angles. Unfortunately, I have never used Maya extensively, so I am basically a complete beginner with the software. I have been doing some tutorials in hopes of learning the skills I will need to create a penguin, but I am afraid this may take way too long.

Does anyone know if there is a good tutorial for creating a cute looking penguin in Maya? I would really appreciate it if someone could give me a link.

Thanks.

I see. Coming from the Photoshop world, I am used to having thousands of free tutorials at my fingertips. Do Maya tutorials usually come with a price?

As mentioned in the postings above you can get free tutorials from here and digital-tutors and many other sites which can have extensive links to free tutorials (such as www.learning-maya.com).
I've not see a tutorial on a penguin but somebody over in simplymax is making one for the 3D game character challenge.
