This course will look at the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. We'll look at what makes a good model in Maya and why objects are modeled in the way they are.

somting wong wit Booleans lol

Hey Maya Fans if any1 can help it will b many thanx, i've searched the forums and looked through maya help but user added image

i waz jus wondering if some1 could please try this out on their Maya... create a polygon object and then create another then intersect them both, select the object you want the indent in then select the other, then go polygons/booleans/difference.. then do it again with the same object and c if it works... (create another object and intersect it through the one with the hole/watever shape u used 2 intersect)

I'm useing maya 7 and 4 some reason it wont let me do this more than once???? on any object.. when i do it a second time both objects dissapear.. i'm like wtf?

If any1 thinks i'm doin somthing wrong or could jus give some advise it will be time well spent..

booleans suck. Everyone needs to learn to model w/o them

Hi,

Well, although I've never used this function myself before, but I've followed your instructions and had just tested the Booleans function for you Daniel, seems there's nothing wrong with mine... (Am using Maya 7)

You might want to reinstall the Maya if that's possible.

sometimes u need to delete its history and try that op or try a diff booleans as sometimes diff dont work form me but wen i delete hist and do union it works

hmm well i found another thread about this and every1 has had pretty much the same prob... i think it might be somthin 2 do with the N* of poly's?

ohh and 2 more things...1, does any1 no if theres any free video texturing tuts out there, i'm waitin 4 boss 2 get points :headbang: omg i jus wanna steal his card and do it myself!!!! and 2.. u no when u first start maya and u can select any objects.. well somtimes it wont let me do that.... 4 e.g. when i clean up the geometry on my sword the stupid thing wont let me select both objects so i can boolean them, i cant even select one. all it lets me do is select the faces??? once again i'm like wtfuser added image
