Heres an update.

Ive just Started the color texturing on the face. Ive decided to do it in Zbrush instead of PS, its far easier, that the back and forth from PS to Maya. Z has some good custom brushes too...

texturing in Z is so messy.

frankly the painting tools are really useless.
the only good thing is that you can use any alpha with them.

you might want to get ZappLink too. its a plugin that goes back and forth to PS for Z for better texturing.

To be honest Vlad, Im keeping an open mind right now. I did the girl characters hair in Z and I just kind of well, 'got it'

Use of custom alphas are good for sure as is Zapplink...

The guy is coming together nicely. Cant wait to see his chlothing, should be some interesting stuff there.

As for the monster, looks interesting, that Maya modelled or sculpted in ZBrush?

that looks like its just a bump though?

maybe you can do some more subpix displacement at higher levels, then add bum for too low frequency details.

i usually hit 2.5 mil poly count until my machine start crawling on the floor [literally user added image ]
