Beer glass scene creation
This course contains a little bit of everything with modeling, UVing, texturing and dynamics in Maya, as well as compositing multilayered EXR's in Photoshop.

Motion Math - MMB slider!

Hi folks, still a Maya Newbie.

Basically i am animating on a motion path to crash a space pod into a stack of hay, but i am trying to tweak the U value on each key i have added on the path.

What happens is, when i highlight the U value numbers, supposedly when you MMB in the screen youshould get an on screen slider, but i dont seem to get one and i dont know why.
Does anyone else?

I am on Maya 8.5 OSX.

Thanks,

I tried searching by the way!

Hello,

the slider is a virtual slider so nothing appears on the screen. The cursor should turn into a left to right arrow when you have highlighted the writing next to the U value (not the value itself) and, in the workspace, press the middle mouse button.

Take it easy,

Mat.

Thats the Attribute editor, you need the channel box

i am having the same problem again, when i am in the Graph Editor, i cant seem to move the different tangents i think there called to tweak the animation?

My middle mouse button is not very responsive, i did used to have the middle mouse button activate a dashboard activity but it is now disabled :S

you should be able to move those after you select the vertex and then after you select the tangent you want to move is selected, but with the left mouse button... breaking and unweighting them makes moving them less of a hassle too

It might be a daft thing to ask but have you hit the w key to activate the movement control?

Select the point/s or tangent arm/s that you want to move then use the middle mouse button to move it/them. if there's no movement hit the w key.

Hope that does the trick,

Mat
