This course contains a little bit of everything with modeling, UVing, texturing and dynamics in Maya, as well as compositing multilayered EXR's in Photoshop.

exporting fur

This may sound like a really stupid question (or it might not, it depends on the answer) but...
can you add fur to a character in blender and then export it to maya?

As far as I am aware Blenders file support to Maya is quite limited. As Steve said use Maya Fur as it works and has been around longer than Blenders.

Have you had a read over the help files? There pretty good, just read em and have a play.

Digital tutors do a tutorial kit on it, cant vouch for it, I'm going it on my own with my lion.
