Keep faces together

ok im trying to extrude my fingers on my char's hand but wen i extrude the front its xetrude individual faces and its not keeping it smooth but i have keep faces together any one have any ideas of whats wrong????

Maya 8.0
Mesh> Keep faces together. It's at the top of the list.

Maya 7.0
Polygons> Tool Options> Keep faces together.

Can't look thru Camera!

When I try to look thru a perspective camera that I've created, I get the following error:
C:/Program Files/Autodesk/Maya2008/scripts/others/lookThroughModelPanel.mel line 44: Too few arguments given. //
