This course will look at the fundamentals of rendering in Arnold. We'll go through the different light types available, cameras, shaders, Arnold's render settings and finally how to split an image into render passes (AOV's), before we then reassemble it i
I'm not too familiar with lighting or paint effects and am not sure what's going on here.
I have area lights surrounding the bar to light up the bar, however the Paint effects in the aquarium are glowing out of control. When I take the lights away the aquarium is fine, but the lighting around the bar is not.
Do I have to make changes to the lights the paint effects, or both. Or am I way off all together. Any advice or tips would be very much appreciated.
I tried converting them to nurbs, It did work, however my render time doing it that way took forever compared to turning off the use lights/illumination attribute for the paint effects.
If you are not using mental ray, there really isn't any particular need to convert em to nurbs or Poly. Check the material applied to the paint effects as they can cause some serious reflections/refractions by default. But you seem to have it working pretty nicely.
If you get into mental ray, you will quickly notice that paint effects will not render. They would have to be converted to nurbs or poly in that case.
So far so good keep up the good work.
