Difference?

Does anybody know what the difference is between the Maya version that costs $1,000+ dollars and the one that only costs $300? I dont really see. On this website I went to it said "Maya bundle w/ clay tools: $5,000 something, and then normal maya was around $300 or $200. I clicked on the Clay Tools, but I didn't really get what it meant. Does anybody know?
Thanks

the cheaper one was probably a student licence (non commercial usage)

Examples of bTraffic - a traffic animation tool for Maya
bFlocking - a tool for Maya 8.5+ to generate flocking and swarming behaviours
