Maya 2020 fundamentals - modelling the real world
Get halfway through a model and find it's an unworkable mess? Can't add edge loops where you need them? Can't subdivide a mesh properly? If any of this sounds familiar check this course out.

Hey, looking good mate.

Only thing is on the second monitor, the screen surface or perhaps just the map on it looks a bit scewed mainly towards the top right corner. This may not be noticeable in the final image but still.

Keep it coming

Looks great arran, love the texturing and render in particular.

For your textures on the wall and the worktop, are you painting these or manipulating photos? Also, are all the indentations on the worktop (like the broken bits where the wood shows) textured and bumped or modeled? Real sense of 3 dimensionality to them.

Cheers

the only thing, is there a way to fix the blinds(render wise)? I'm sure you thought of this.

hey - thanks everyone for the good words! it's really good to get feedback. user added image user added image

the textures on the desk and walls are a combination of photos and stuff i made in photoshop. the stuff on the desk edge is just modified photos with a bump map - no modeling, aside from a bevel on the edge.

yeah - i think it's the size or low quality of the render that's doing that to the blinds. i haven't done too much to them or the white supports yet.
