Problem with smooth mesh preview

Hey all,

I'm having trouble figuring this one out.

I have a model that looks like this:
user added image

But when I apply a smooth preview it ends up looking like this:
user added image

Any ideas how to fix that giant center divide? It seems that it's making curved lines between all the vertices.

You either have vertices that are not merged or you have interior faces that need to be deleted.

Yay!

You were right! I thought I had deleted them all but there was one more internal face down the center that I didn't see! Thank you! I was only looking for internal edges to delete
