This course will look in the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. It's aimed at people that have some modeling experience in Maya but are having trouble with
complex objects.
arran, yes, the ground does look flat. So far I havn't done anything special yet, like add bumps, specularity, etc. Just, texture mapping, applying the textures and rendering with one directional light with ray trace shadows. My render time right now is only about 5 minutes or less I think.
Once I finish applying the textures, I will work on lighting, shadows, bumps, etc (if I get time, hehe).

Sorry for not getting this in the finals everyone. I was going to spend a couple of hours on it last night to finish it up and then enter it, but an unexpected problem arose and ended up having to work really late. It's what I get for waiting til the last minute, hehe.
Anyway, I've enjoyed watching everyone's progress and seeing the final entries. Since the comp is over, I'll wait a few days before finishing mine, but will post the completed render anyway.
