Introduction to Maya - Modeling Fundamentals Vol 2
This course will look in the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. It's aimed at people that have some modeling experience in Maya but are having trouble with complex objects.

I think the hat looks great, especially the little joining parts. I dont find the jacket texture overly satisfying. I'm assuming its just a base texture for now? It could be dirtiier and have some tears etc it looks too perfect right now

Started his pants.. still needs work but at least I have the strips on.... I also made his upper body a bit smaller so he not as fat looking...

Still need to learn a lot more on texturing and Uv layout....the strips on his legs even thow the map is flat are not perfect lines.. drivein me nuts...

Why don´t you try a MR-based GI solution?

I´m sure it´ll be a bit taxing on your resources at render time, but if you work with small renders before throwing a big one, you could achieve pretty good results bud.
