This course will look in the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. It's aimed at people that have some modeling experience in Maya but are having trouble with
complex objects.
Yeah, the helmet is not quite right. I took a look at some reference images on Google and I noticed a couple of things which seem to focus on the face-cage:
(1) Looking at the render of the profile, the curve on the side of the facecage maybe just a smidgen too much.
(2) The gap between the two elements of the double crossbar at the top maybe too wide.
u can quickly tweak the shapes of ur models by using some of maya'deformers.
since his head will be under a helmet, there is no need take the poly count too high.(if u r using poly's to model this head)
ur model looks decent right now , from the looks of it, it seems u have enough vertices to shape this head nicely... so:
create either a lattice, or a couple clusters, then just try to match thte profile and front views of ur images... details can be added l8r, but now u just need the overall dimensions and shape. so tweak away
wow great stuff just one comment about the nose is looks like it hooks a little more in the picture than in your model. i dunno if it will matter like it was said before cuz hes under a helmet but something to consider.
ok to start off, twisteddragon33, this might sound stupid but i have no clue how to render a wire lol, i have used maya for years now tell me how and i will.
LSphinx the thing covering his eyes is a tented thing dont know what it is called but it blocks the sun and protects the eyes
3djoe thanks for the reply and i will show the wire when someone tells me how
Element_Khaos also thanks for the reply and i decided for now i wont bother with the face it seems pretty close compared to the pics of the player so i will get to that later
