plug-ins

So I've grabbed all the plugins that sound good and useful (mostly weeks ago), but there's one main problem: They're all for earlier versions of maya, and the program wants them to be for 6.5. Is there a place I can grab updated plugins (both for the stuff here, and for the stuff Alias has on their homesite), or more detailed instructions than the help files provide? I don't have access to a copy of Express Edition 2003; either that, or some of the stuff is a little confusing for me to understand.

Thanks.
