well there is the free tutorials on simply maya. it rox but there's also a good number of video tuts on 3d-palace.com including modelling a jaguar car and a bot..

i would also really recommend 3d-palace it has good modeling tutorials and they're free! Also there are some parts that are free in the archive tutorials here at simply maya

Any of the SM tutes are gr8, but for free ones... I would look at:

Learning Maya or
Digital Tutors

Also look into the Maya Foundation Book by Alias

hmm i wonder... why not try doing a free 3ds max tutorial in 3d palace using maya. shouldnt be to difficult now would it. user added image

but it pisses me to see that the number of tutorials for max in 3d sites are always greater than for maya except in the simplysites.

well, because 3ds Max started really strong, since there literraly was no maya. Ever noticed how all (at least most) of the 3dsMax tutes are in like 3ds Max 4 or 5? I'm running 8 right now.

geez i remember when the 'big jump' was from max r2.5 to r3... yikes.
