Introduction to Maya - Rendering in Arnold
This course will look at the fundamentals of rendering in Arnold. We'll go through the different light types available, cameras, shaders, Arnold's render settings and finally how to split an image into render passes (AOV's), before we then reassemble it i

Cool design and character creation. You will add good competition to the few other good characters being entered.

ok the time is coming.
It's already past midnight and I'm still here.
Tomorrow I have to work but I didn't finish it yet.
Well I had some problem with normal map.
I though that I could use the image taken from normal map and transform it in gray scale and applied to the texture to make the detail come out.
Was not so simply as that, so at the I paint it all by hand.
anyway the texture is done.
I going to leave her armor.
I will not have time to finish all on time, so let leave just the character.

I'm using all 512X512 texture

BODY + normal
HEAD (eyes, hair, arms) + normal

:headbang:
I really didn't enjoy making this texture.
My high model was going so fine, but when I got to this low model and the texture, all looks so "low" I mean

Well here is the texture I'd made.

The modeling part is really incredible. But to be honest I didn't like the textures. I agree with you, they look so "low" if compared with your model. But, since time is ticking out, is good enough. When challenge will be over, you'll have time to improve things and let them the way you imagine. Good luck in your work. It's excellent.

I just had rigged
some test pose

I think the preview screem looks better them render, once my video card do not support cpv (color per vertex) issues I cannot render in good res image, the shadow as you can see in the pic on top looks like toon shader.

I realise this normal thing is really deep and complex.

I have to stude more.

As said before, its a great concept and great modelling, well done on being really successful with that side user added image

I think the textures (at present) is letting the final model down. Have a look for example game model textures and see how they make use of high contrast and high colour. Paint it and then experiment with upping the contrast. Then paint over it some more and maybe up the contrast again. Just a little bit more work on that should help bring the model out more.

Good luck though and thanks for showing us how to model a great concept user added image
