Birail using existing curves - how do i properly attach the curves?

HI. I need to use Birail but hte profile and rails are already made. The problem is that when i made the profile curve, i didn't make the end points snap to the rails and so now it fails.

How do i add points on both ends that snap to the curves? i can edit points but this adds points only on one end and not the other.

can't you drag a curve point to the end of the curve and then edit curve> add knot? or rebuild the curve?
