I think HDRI alone often kills models.. the model itslef is good, but...

Anyway, I do like the model user added image

What does rigged mean? It was done with an HDRI environment...

Does anyone know how I can material color different in a dgs_material? When I try to change the color it makes the model black...im kinda stumped.

are you sure you are changing the diffuse channel of DGS? Maybe lower the reflectivity down a TINY bit, because now your model is looking 100% reflective.

Ya I tried changing the diffuse color to a red tone, just to see if I could get a red metallic reflecty color...but it made my model black. So then I tried to lighten up diffuse attribute but it didnt help.

Also, can you put a light texture on a dgs_material? To change it to a brushed chrome look? I havent tried just a thought while I was at work.

All right, did a little vector render of it...

I cant figure out how to change the colors of the dgs_material, so I just went a different route.

What does rigged mean?

rigged means that you make a skeleton and then you will be able to move your model around in diffrent poses. very good model by the way. user added image

if the specular level is 100%, the material color won't change. If it's not 100%, then I don't know really...

Mental Ray usually tends to ignore what you tell it to all but ΒΌ of the time :p
