Fur Question

Hello All,

I would like to cover an object with fur. How do I go about making fur with Maya? Do I add fur during modeling or rendering?

r fur question

hi there,

Select your object then

Go to the Fur menu and (at the top of the menu) Attach Fur description. Fur works best on Nurbs geometry but will work on Poly's too, not supported yet for SubD's though.

Poly UV's need to be even in order to get even coverage (also make sure your poly normals are facing the right way 'Outwards').

Also check out the Fur tut in the online docs re making a furry ball, etc...

Hope this helps

Thank you I looked up the online help for Maya and I was blown away that is was this detailed. Just goes to show that the Maya Dev's went out of their way to make a great program. Thanks again!
