Maya for 3D Printing - Rapid Prototyping
In this course we're going to look at something a little different, creating technically accurate 3D printed parts.

before you click the Ok button in the error message, check the output window if there's any error messages there...

interesting thing... I took a look at the loadup commands in the script editor, and I noticed an error in the begining...

// Error: Could not create command port : scopa:7845 //

where "scopa" is my computers network name...

is this related? how can I fix that?

also, when I open my scene, I get the following errors:

// Warning: File not found: render_smear.xpm //
// Warning: File not found: render_studioClearCoat.xpm //
// Warning: File not found: render_smear.xpm //
// Warning: File not found: render_studioClearCoat.xpm //

could that be the problem? what are those files?

shit, i'm getting the same damn problem.
Did you get things working or find a solution?

*edit*
I'm positive my problem has to due with a lack of memory though.
My scenes are getting pretty damn complex for 768mb of ram.

XPM files are your icon files. Sounds like a corrupt installation.

Nah, those are add on shaders, right?
Just forgot the icon on highend3d or something, I also have "missing *.xpm" style messages and they are only warnings, not errors. Try batch-rendering from the commandline

on windows:
Code:
mayarender_with_mr -file file.mb
(and remember to set
SET MAYA_INSTALL_PATH=C:\Program Files\AliasWavefront\Maya5.0 <-- to whatever your install path is)
If it persists, does MR work on all/any other scenes?
