This course will look at the fundamentals of rendering in Arnold. We'll go through the different light types available, cameras, shaders, Arnold's render settings and finally how to split an image into render passes (AOV's), before we then reassemble it i
well here's a test using the bssrdf shader from here https://test.jzinfo.com/bssrdf.htm , it's the one on the right. it seems a bit soft to me (it was softer earlier, but I don't know how to make it any less than this). any comments welcome.
the colors also seem to me to be a little hyperrealistic, I'm trying to go for photoreal, any help would be appreciated

Wow the Jango costume looks great! He looks like he'd be fun to animate. The skin shader does look soft like you said... I myself don't know much about creating a skin shader but I've seen a great tutorial by Steven Stahlberg which was mentioned earlier, here's the link:
Hmmm...maybe it's just my monitor, but the face looks slightly too reddish/pink to me...Otherwise, GREAT job on the model so far, keep up the GREAT work PilotLtKettch! It really is an awesome model! I wish I could model as well as all of you do...but I am learning fast! I am modeling my first human head after only completing 2 project prior to it! Hope to work some more on it today...

Hey coming along nicely, keep it up. The only thing though is that skin shader is a little to red, it looks like he's got massive sun burn., or he's really embarrassed about something...
ok, here's the same pick with adjustments to make it more flesh colored, I haven't had too much time to work on it because i have a project due monday and another tuesday (both are maya related). but I will definitely post when I have something new
and here's yet another one, I'm almost done tweaking the face so it looks more like me (for instance I thought the lips looked to big in the previous images, just scaled it down a tad horizontally and suddenly it looked like my lips...) and then, when I'm done with that, I'm going to unwrap the head and put a read texture on it (instead of projecting a side view of my face)
