Maya 2020 fundamentals - modelling the real world

Detach without changing texture placement

Hi!

I got a nurbs suface with i tiled texture on it (4x4 tiles). when i detach the two new surfaces get 4x4 EACH. so there is a 8x4 resulting.

is there way to make the texture stay the same ?
