well, kinda hard to judge, as it's fairly obvious that the fire is the "Create > Fire" command, so there wasn't much in the way of work there.
Other than that, a sphere and a plane aren't too difficult. For understanding how Maya works, I'm sure this was useful, but I look forward to seeing more complicated work from you. My recomendation is to focus on polygonal modeling first.
