Maya for 3D Printing - Rapid Prototyping
In this course we're going to look at something a little different, creating technically accurate 3D printed parts.

Character For Animation

Hey, ya'll im back!
I decided to make a short animation, well actually two, using the same character. The first one will be about a dude going skeet shooting and the second one will be about a dude running on a treadmill that keeps going faster and faster until he FLIES off of the thing and into a wall. I just started making the character, and here is a five minuet leg im happy with

Hey Matt

If you want some good leg images Id be happy to send some to you, they wont be at the angle you have now so will be a little easier to model

Nah, man, but thanks for wanting to help. I WAY IMPROVED the arms and legs... and I did some UVExcercizes for excercize, and I mapped out the body... but if anyone can point me out to some nice UV layout tutorials, I would be glad! Heres the body. But the chest and stuff... its Ok, he will have a shirt on! And pants and shoes too! Then after I make my two animations (one is skeet shooting and the other is him running on a treatmill going faster and faster until he gets flung off) I might make a moderatly graphic intensive game model

Hey, thing is you wont bee seeing the feet or body. Just the legs, as the character will be wearing shorts, and the arms and neck and head, as the character will be wearing a shirt.

You will still technically see the body/limbs. Even if you model the clothing or use Cloth, it will be based around the existing mesh.

I think the problem is by using different refs for the limbs and body you'll end up with incorrect proportions.

If this project is more working on your animation skills then a polished/detailed model probably isn't needed. A basic "block" character build out of primitive shapes would be absolutely fine.

Yeah, but no but yeah but no....
