This course will look at the fundamentals of rendering in Arnold. We'll go through the different light types available, cameras, shaders, Arnold's render settings and finally how to split an image into render passes (AOV's), before we then reassemble it i

It looks good but he’s packing some heat in that armor and not talking about his weapons,, if that cup guard was any bigger I would swear there is a brother under that suite.:p

To slobby to make a direct comparison :p But made poses with some really bad rigging, where you can se the tweaked cub. also changed the gloves and glases and textured the mask. Pretty much feel he's 98-99% done, although there are some small areas I need to improve.

This is just cosmetic,, but the color of the suite could be better besides a clay blue/green and add some asymmetries to the armor like scuff marks / scratches and dents, it’s a little too rounded and organic looking for armor.. Then it’s just what I think so it don’t mean much. user added image

P.S

Not That I’m gay or any thing but the boulder holder looks a lot better. :p

Just a minor thing, his left arm slightly comes through the shoulder pad. Nothing a little weight painting wouldn't solve thought.

meh, I personally like the color I've given him, not interrestest in making him colorfull like a polish disco clown, but you're right about the asymmtries thing. I would think displacemnet is best for such a task, but havn't learned to use that yet...
If u could give me a tip on a good place to learn the use displacemet, then plz let me know.

I take it you don't like Star Wars either because there is sound in the spacebattle scenes user added image
Don't know if you have ever played fallout, but that's where the insperation came from. The armor I made is abit like the one in that game.

Tim_LIVID: thx, missed a spot I guess user added image

You could always ask Mike or Kurt to kick out a video on one but for now you can download the Normal mapping video From Mike or the Cyclops head Painting From Kurt for now. then you can always tap F1 and type displacemet map and it has a easy to fallow step by step tut to get you started.

edit
Wait I think Mikes has one here,, it's on the Meteor video. I have to recheck.

YeP! it is,, I for got do to Drain Bamage:nod:

Could he really hold a chain gun like that? You might want to consider adding a harness or a suit attachment for added realism.
