Maya 2020 fundamentals - modelling the real world
Get halfway through a model and find it's an unworkable mess? Can't add edge loops where you need them? Can't subdivide a mesh properly? If any of this sounds familiar check this course out.

How's it going Tim?

Nice update. Cheers for posting a long shot, I've been wondering how it looks from a distance. Nearly finished then, well done, I look forward to seeing it in all of its rendered glory!

Take it easy,

Mat.

Cheers for your comments guys, much appreciated.

As for the Nebulon-B, so soon after this project would do my head in. But I do like the idea of doing a massive Mellie with all our space things. Put them all together, come up with a story (ish) and a victor. Loads of fighters to get mullered. Some sounds effects and job done user added image Take forever to render though.

Well thanks to an own goal England has it's first 3 points, not the best start but it'll have to do.

That would be cool!
I love doing spacecraft... though I hold no illusion of making it look half as good as what you did...

As on soccer again... Holland is up next... wish us luck!!! user added image

My god this is insanely good. Film quality me thinks with some textures on there. Glad you found a job, it was only a matter of time before some one with your talent got employed. Look forward to more.

Now you've got to do the Executor (super star Destroyer):bandit:

Sorry about the long delay. I have been busy doing Friends of the Earth and Campaign against Climate Change stuff.

However, I am close to finishing and thought I would show you where I am at the moment.

I also have to do some loft insulation which is no easy thing so I am really balancing all the things at the moment.

And now with an Ambient Occlusion shader on it to give an idea of the final quality. The settings might need a bit of altering but it's close.

As for the Super Star Destroyer. Well I think my head would just explode if I think about doing that. They do look freakin sweet though :attn:

Sweet job Tim,

how long did it take to render in the end? It might be an idea to try a render without the background geometry, it'll look great on a clean black background.

Take it easy,

Mat.
