deformation

Hello,

I used to use Softimage/XSI years ago and it had/has a very useful animation tool called a spline deformation. I'm trying to find out if Maya has a similar capability. For example, let say that you've drawn a curve in the shape of a roller coaster and you have a nurbs sphere that is in the shape of worm. What I want to be able to do is to have the worm animate along that path and distort or deform to the shape of that path/curve as it's going along.

Can Maya do anything like that?

Thanks in advance

I think you could use a lattice to do that, its under animation-> Deform (I think as I havn't got maya open at the moment)
