Get halfway through a model and find it's an unworkable mess? Can't add edge loops where you need them? Can't subdivide a mesh properly? If any of this sounds familiar check this course out.
I've completely mapped a model using planar/automatic mapping.
When I was done mapping, noticed that a map for 1 piece of geometry had disappeared (maybe I deleted by mistake)
I did not want to map this piece again because it was tedious.
I went to my trusty "incremental" saves & imported the geometry in question into current scene.
Checked the UV Texture editor and map was imported also.
When I went to do a UV Snapshot, the imported map is not visible in the snapshot!
