just a room

Hi Everyone,
this is my first post in this really nice forum :bow:
I'd like to show my current work, which is simply called my room. Its likely to a Room which Rostoons did, and i took a few ideas from him (thanks for that, hope its ok user added image

)

Here's a Render, i'd be happy to get some advices or general feedback, as i'm relatively new to maya. I switched from 3d Max on Pc so Maya on Mac.

Welcome to Simply Maya!

I personally think you've made a good start. I especially like that the items on the walls are curled at the corners and such that they look more realistic. The render could probably be a little brighter just for the purpose of allowing us to see the details a little better. Great work so far xmikx.

looking good so far. I agree, lighten up the render a bit...maybe an ambient light or something so we can see better.

everything is poly, except the posters and the curtains which are nurbs.

i'm asking myself how to model some t-shirts which lie folded in the shelf.
anyone a suggestion? would appreciate it :bow:

Wow, pretty fast texturing you did there and modeling of the shirts, etc. What did you do freeze time? My only crit right now, which I'm sure is obvious, is the shirts that are hanging up. I wouldn't even know where to begin to do something like that but they need to look like they're hanging (relaxed) on the hangers better. Wish I knew how to help you there but I'm still somewhat of a newbie. I'm sure someone will come along and post some good advice on that. KUTGW.

thanks for the kind words perfecto, unfortunatly i can't freeze time user added image

it rained the last two days, so i sat about 25hours in this two days in front of my computer and modelled.

yeah as you say, those shirts doesn't look so nice to mee too. i did them with cloth, tried anything out, but just won't relax like normal shirts would do user added image

you could use dynamics to flatten the shirts...create a pin constraint on the top of the shirt and then apply some gravity...or make the hangar rigid body and the shirt a softbody and let it go, so that it flattens out

but the room looks really good user added image
