Don't take just my word on this but I'm pretty sure that's good. I only have 1GB RAM and a GeForce 7500 card and works pretty good. 2GB is what you really want though so I'm jealous.

Another consideration is Windows. I have Windows Vista and havn't had any problems but I've read on more than one occasion that Maya and Vista are not compatible. If you get a new computer, they usually come with Vista. That's about all I know though

IÕd go with a MacÉÉ :p

That video card is great and that should be enough RAM (even for a PC user added image ).

Ive got the 7900 GTX 512 in my laptop. it runs fine so you should be ok.

One thing to remember is that if our going to use it as your primary base for maya then you'll want a fast processor (ive got hte Core 2 Duo 2.26 GhZ in mine and it's really fast) especially when rendering.

The cards in Macs are a bit slower compared to the ones you can get in PC laptops

For $100 more bucks there is a Intel(R) Core(TM) 2 Duo T7200 (2.0GHz/4MB L2Cache) upgrade do you think it would be worth it?
