hello guys ... i am using a really poweful computer but....

when i try to import a file from DWG into MAYA my computer gets really slow....

MY RAM IS 4GB , MY GRAPHICS CARD IS 512 MB GEFORCE , DUE CORE 2.66GHZ...


HOW CAN I MAKE MAYA FASTER WITH THIS TYPE OF FILE... i need the file to model my project ... in 3DS works just fine ...


ANYONE??

I also just tried importing a .dxf file from AutoCAD and and the geometry looks fine but is all broken up really bad when you select things. And like you said, it really slows down the computer in a major way. So, I'm curious too.

yeah .... the DWG files woke much more efficient in 3DS!!! i LOVE MAYA but is letting me down .....


i think it might have a an update or something to overcome this problem... i'll try AUTO DESK
