This course will look at the fundamentals of rendering in Arnold. We'll go through the different light types available, cameras, shaders, Arnold's render settings and finally how to split an image into render passes (AOV's), before we then reassemble it i
Hey All
I have decided to make a factory type ruin. I made a quick concept today. It is defiantly inspired by the Chernobyl ruins. I'll make a Better one later on.
"If Less is more then think how much more more would be..."
Cool start. I hope you will have better luck with the computer and harddrives this challenge. Data loss is a killer, and I'm glad you're back on track to put up a fight in this one
Now let the C4 rip up your concept scene a lot
Ruins speaks of destruction, chaos, rubble and ragged surfaces to me. Careful to make it not look just abandoned. I know it's early but keep the explosions/impacts and signs of the cause for the ruination in mind as you develop the scene Perhaps not necessarily from war, as that's just one logical possibility for present and future scenes.
To make it interesting, incorporate perhaps one element of humanity in it. Even if dead.
Thanks for the tips... Hard-drives suck... i actually am getting the files back tomorrow cause a friend fixed it for me...
i will work on making the concept more ruined when i get a chance... Need sleep now 1:00
"If Less is more then think how much more more would be..."
nice concept. Maybe like AlphaFlyte said not enough ruined but thats all. xD
Did you really made the draw and then looked for the photographs? that must have kept you busy for a long while
Thanks,
I actually made the drawigs fromt the photos then combined the photos together better...
they were really bad when i made the sketch you could hardly tell what it was...
"If Less is more then think how much more more would be..."
Yeah, that'd save me a heap of time with texturing.
I am changing it a bit by making the road and other areas covered in snow. It'll be a hard thing to do but i reckon i can do it.
I have started on some random junk items to populate the scene to get me started. This one is a barrel in some snow.
It still needs some work.
"If Less is more then think how much more more would be..."
Thanks,
With the snow it may look wrong cause i haven't really been near snow before. I'll try to get some ref pics to make it more realistic. What exactly would a snow drift be?
"If Less is more then think how much more more would be..."
well considering you haven't been near snow, we'll use a different reference: Sand.
Snow and sand, in a basic sense, work similarily. Consider the direction the wind is blowing: the objects which will be interfering with the path of those flakes/grains blown by the wind will gather more on that side, where the side opposite the wind will have less.
If you have a wind blowing south: the snow will gather more on the north side of the barrel and less on the southern side.
