Introduction to Maya - Rendering in Arnold
This course will look at the fundamentals of rendering in Arnold. We'll go through the different light types available, cameras, shaders, Arnold's render settings and finally how to split an image into render passes (AOV's), before we then reassemble it i

YouTube - ‪Zelda1‬‏

Just a quick test - Just want to make sure the game screen was working.

The wavy white stuff on the bottom screen is because I had not put the gameplay plate inside the glass - just done some tests and thats now sorted.

Sorted out some of the problems

Anyway - did not like the fact the top screen did very little.
So I added some animation and extra sprites to the upper screen.
Just so it looks better.

Borders help a lot as well. Rate I am going I might be able to get this in just in time (Only joking, got alot more I want to do to this project yet).

Wow! Excellent Tweetytunes! Awesome to see you working on it too. I wonder if Vimeo might give you better playback, less compression than YouTube? But I certainly understand using YouTube, and it's test so no worries :-) . Sounds like you are rendering out an image sequence and then comping it in AE? Do render out .EXR's? What render times are you getting on each frame? Awesome work!!

Rendered out an image sequence and then imported that into maya as a texture for the bottom screen - the upper screen is really two different images changed every 60 frames.

Render times at mo is Beauty (without Occ) = 30/42 seconds - Occ layer = 12 seconds (videos are missing this layer at mo). I use tiffs.

No real work has been done on the background or the lights yet. And not started on the DOF.

Right just letting the final test video render out and I`ll be moving on to putting it into some film footage.

My mother told me to enter this as she said it looks just as good as some of the entries - so I have. But the final video will not be ready in time - oh well.

But going to be work hard on this project still.

You should dry your tears and go play some (warning many hours of life lost to this site over the last 2 months).

Object placed, no lights yet, reflections already working on background shadder (needs tweaking but early days yet)

Idea is to get this done for a still - then take what I learn and apply it to film footage.
This is going a little too good right now - waiting for the penny to drop.

Right I`m a little bit stuck now. Light is from HDRI, and added the Occ layer to the render. Also got a slight DOF on there for good mes sure. Now the cards on the table and the box on the floor are looking cool but I still think the game and watch thing it self is still not right and I don`t know what else to do to sort it. Added the balls just to test the HDRI and they look as if they are fine.

I also know I have to blur the reflections to match the table glass but I want the rest of it sorted first - any one got any ideas.
