lighting on objects

Hi i am wondering if anyone knows a technique to disallow an object from receiving light. I only want my light source to shine on one object but not the rest of the objects in the scene.

Anyone knows if it is possible?

Yes, you can use light-linking. Window > Relationship Editors > Light Linking > Light-centric. Then you can select your lights and objects and link them as you wish. Hope that helps.
