rendering in Mentalray

i have a scene with a tin can bobbing up and down in an ocean.
i have the sky ocean and tin can in seprate render layers.

i want the tin can to be rendered in mentalray but when i render it out it doesnt bob up and down in the ocean. but when i switch the render type to maya software render it does bob up and down in the ocean.

can someone explain how to make the tin can bob up and down in the ocean in mentalray please.

me neither man.............. its just my luck i guess... every 5 foot forwards i take, i take another 50 backwards lol

you would have to post up the scene. It doesn't make any sense.

Try baking out the can's motion. Go to edit>keys>bake simulation.

Does it render properly then?
