Beer glass scene creation
This course contains a little bit of everything with modeling, UVing, texturing and dynamics in Maya, as well as compositing multilayered EXR's in Photoshop.

Can you post a pic of your bump map and your bump/material setup. It's difficult to say what it could be otherwise. user added image

Alright.

The first is the hypershade of my bump set up.
The second is the model rendered with Maya Software. Notice how the bump map does show.
The third is the model rendered with Mental Ray. Notice the bump map does not show.

In the "Color Balance" section of file3 ensure that "Alpha is Luminance" is selected.

What have you done to troubleshoot this?

Can you upload the scene file? I did a quick test this morning with a bump map applied to an anisotropic material and the bump is working under mental ray.

Pixelza - what version of Maya are you using? I'm using 2012 - maybe that's the problem.

honestdom - I've done some google searches and tried playing with a few settings, to no avail. Most threads talk about attaching a bump map to a MR material, which I am not doing.

I uploaded my scene file here:

Ah yes! That was it! Not only did I have to reduce the filter offset, I had to reduce it all the way down to 0 (0.05 did not render the bump map at all). Just an interesting anecdote.

Thanks for the help.
