mental ray/rendering problem

Hello,

I'm making one of my first animations in maya, but strumbled on a big problem.
I would like to use the mental ray to render my animation, but in this particular scene, it doesnt work.
even in the render view window, it shows an error message:

// Error: file: /Applications/Autodesk/maya2013/mentalray/scripts/mentalrayUI.mel line 535: No object matches name: mentalrayGlobals.exportVerbosit

anyone who can help me?

next to that, I tried to render my animation using the maya software renderer.
this shows something in the renderview, but, when I want to do the batch render,
it runs like 3 seconds, and after that, it says that the rendering is done.
I put a screenshot as attachment.

thanks!

That error is something I don't ever recall seeing, I know there is a mentalrayGlobals.exportVerbosity attribute, don't know if that's a copy/paste mistake or what. Have you checked the render logs and not just the script editor? It's usually a more detailed source.
