windows to linux, file corruption problem....

First time ever issue; When i save my file in windows and someone else in a linux system opens the scene file, all the materials are gone, i can't turn on and off wireframe in viewport, and some meshes are deleted...

I tried to find a solution but can't get any info on this.

Are the versions of maya the same on both platforms? If so try saving as mb not ma and see if that helps if the versions of maya are different well than your probably going to have problems.

From a readers' Q and A column in TV GUIDE: "If we get involved in a nuclear war, would the electromagnetic pulses from exploding bombs damage my videotapes?"

Tried the same operation on windows to windows. Still having the same problem. Actually the scene is prepared in maya , imported into max, and exported into maya again in one linux pc. Later, another pc with windows opens the file in maya and saves it. when 3rd pc with windows opens the file it gets corrupted. I have two things in mind that might cause the problem. The materials from max, or foreign characters in outliner or somewhere in the scene.

I thing i am going to request a system match for the PCs , instead of trying t o solve this one user added image
