Problems with UV's...

I have a .jpeg that I want to apply to a wall. (pic._#1) I did a screen cap. of the wall in Front View and built the .jpeg in Photoshop. They should fit. But when I right-click the swatch in HyperShade and tell it to 'Apply Material to Selected' and Render Frame, I get a smeared section of the pic. (pic._#2) When I look at it in the UV Editor it just seems to be very stretched vertically.(pic._#3) How do I correct?

Another fine mess that I figured out on my own (helped along by YouTube and a few fat reference books)! Ah well.
