How can I change the inside color of object?

If I create an object like cube or any other polygon objects they are black in the inside, how do I change it to be grey from the both outside/inside?

What I mean is that I want the inside of an object to be grey like the way it looks outside, here is the screenshot:

Is there an option to make the inside of the object like the cube in the screenshot to make it be in grey color?

In the panel under lighting turn "two sided lighting" on, I would leave it off as it tells you if a poly is reversed(black)..............dave
