Skin Weight Issues

Hey guys!

I'm really new to Maya and Technical Art in general. I've rigged my model (to the best of my newbie ability) and am onto Skin Weighting now. I'm having some real issues here and could use some advice! I'm guessing some Images of the problem areas would be easier to understand:

The leg breaks apart entirely.

Like I said, I'm really new to this, so any tips and advice would be greatly appreciated. If it's easier to understand the problems I'm currently having, here's a link to the current mesh:

Thanks for reading!
