Quite sometime ago 3D World magazine published a 3D Buzz maya video tutorial on complete character rigging I seem to remember. I might have it somewhere.....

*scurries around here and there looking for pile of 3D World mags*

Edit: Yup I have it here...as for reverse foot...hmmm I dunno

why not? user added image
a reverse foot increases rigging time yes, but it shortens animation time by a lot (for some anyway) because you don't have to worry about translating the foot too far in the Y axis through the ground, so you can plant the foot like you would normally plant a foot user added image i reckon its a very nice technique user added image

thx for the link danny, ive checked it out and the tuts are rather hard to follow user added image oh and alex, i have that issue of 3dworld, its a nice vid, simple setup, but nice user added image

Hi Nem,

have you tried this script/(plugin)... "The JointFactory"... -->
https://www.animagicnet.no/maya/jointfactory/
it includes a reverse foot thingie... I haven't tried it yet, since I haven't come very far in my rigging experimentation... user added image
