Introduction to Maya - Rendering in Arnold
This course will look at the fundamentals of rendering in Arnold. We'll go through the different light types available, cameras, shaders, Arnold's render settings and finally how to split an image into render passes (AOV's), before we then reassemble it i

Ok. I added the mouth and changed a few features. I guess the best way to get this looking right would be to just keep changing things untill I get it all right. When I change one thing, another thing looks out of place, and when I change that, another thing becomes misshapen and so on. Oh, well, I guess I have a lot of work ahead of me.

Having Problems So Soon.....

Ok. Something is weird. I have dealt with it before, but I forgot how. The lip is sticking out in the middle, even though it is perfect in the low poly model. I do not know why it would be doing this. Any suggestions?????user added image user added image user added image

SpikyDude

I couldnt help myself. I had to give him some spikes. Ok, I am kidding about them, but I am going to give him a gladiator-style helmet. It will look cool.

The point on the lip is sticking out because you probably missed that when meging verts.

You really need to add a lot more detail to the lo poly cage because you're not really getting any benefit from smoothing it. Try downloading the CPS plugin from Highend3d.com and using that while you work or use the poly proxy included in Maya 4.5 and higher.

Check out www.thehobbitguy.com for a really great head modelling tut.

Keep Practing.

Cheers!

Thanks for the comment xander. Actually I am using CPS. I just turned primary visibility on in the attribute editor for the low poly model.

I just quickly made a helmet. Does anybody know how to smooth the bottom of the helmet without adding new geometry. If you do, I would like to know also. The low poly model is reflecting off of the helmet, just to let you all know.
