Need easy help

Hey guys. I'm just starting out in 3D, and I'm following a tutorial to make a model car in Maya. I am using Maya 5, but am having a problem. The image plane are blocking the cube....I can only see it in perspective view, but not in the others. I've tried moving the cube in all directions in every perspective, but I can't seem to figure out what the problem is....

Here's a screenshot...any help would be appreciate

The only way I've been able to work with it is by lowering the alpha setting on the image plane. Is that the only way?

are you using camera-based image planes or just textured geometry?

I'd recomend going the geometry route.

Search through the free SM movie tutorials and you'll find a couple for setting up image planes for either mike's shark or kurt's dragon head.
